Benham Gallery welcomes 2008 with the work of Jock Sturges, a Seattle area fine art photographer best known for his nudes and extended portraits of families in Northern California counter-culture communities, and on French naturist beaches. His large format images borrow significantly from classical periods in both photography and nineteenth and early twentieth century painting. The photographs, often taken in the final hours of late summer days, depict the luminescence of the human form, unclothed and unashamed.
