5th annual national juried
a.k.a. photography exhibition
Announcing the 5th annual national juried a.k.a. photography exhibit,
sponsored by Rainier Photographic Supply, Polaroid, and Benham Gallery. This
event is designed to showcase the variety of photographic images possible
with Polaroid products. All 35 images in this exhibit are the result of polaroid film.
Nearly 300 images were submitted by artists from throughout the United
States and Canada. A jury consisting of local photographers Peggy Washburn,
Davis Freeman and Mel Curtis carefully selected the images you will see in
the exhibit.
Each year Rainier Photographic Supply selects a charity to donate a portion
of all submittal fees collected during a.k.a. photography. This year, $500
was raised by Rainier Photographic Supply for the 1st annual Rainier
Scholarship to be awarded to a deserving student of The Photographic Center
Northwest.
Opening night will be Thursday, August 5th at Benham Gallery from 6 - 9 pm.
Winners will be announced at 8 pm. Enjoy an evening of wonderful Polaroid
images and live jazz featuring the Evan Schmitz Duo.
