April 30 - June 15, 2001
Long time Benham Gallery resident artist, Michael Gesinger, will exhibit a collection of images demonstrating his many varied photographic techniques and styles over the past 10 years. Pulling together a show titled Angels and Demons, Gesinger will exhibit, side by side, beautifully hand-colored nudes along with eerie and mysterious statues and masks from Mexico.
Another Benham Gallery resident artist, Phyllis Uitti-Maslin, will exhibit a new series of black and white images collaged together with needle and thread, in a show titled Insights. This new work, designed to encourage imaginative ways of seeing and interpreting common objects, is fractured by the artist and then reassembled in a quilt-like format.
From Houston, Texas, Benham Gallery is proud to display images by photographer, Terry Vine. An exhibition titled La Vida Tradicional, Terry photographs a timeless beauty in the city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Focusing on the poetic aspects, Terry portrays the strength of culture and tradition in this small Mexican town and its inhabitants.
